Class Three

Welcome to the Class 3 page.

Mrs Minns is the class teacher for our year 3 and 4 children, and is supported by Mrs Clayden (Monday – Wednesday ) and Mrs Kennerley (Thursday – Friday). We are also fortunate to joined for our PE lessons each Friday by a specialist PE coach.

Our medium term plan outlines the topics we will be studing in each subject during summer term. We have some exciting events coming up this term including a whole school celebration for King Charles III Coronation, sports day and a class trip.

We will be learning about World War II in History (please see our knowledge organiser for a summary of the areas we will be covering). We are very excited to be visit the Eden Camp museum to support our studies and gain a real insight into this period of time.

In Science we will be studying Animals including Humans (please see knowledge organiser for more details). We will learning about teeth and digestions, carrying out experiments to investigate how different drinks may effect our teeth over time.

Reading Corner

To support our work on WWII our reading corner has been decorated to engage the children and contains lots of books on the subject

Trips

We recently enjoyed a trip to the Madhyamaka Meditation Centre to support our RE work on Budhism. We learnt lots of useful meditation techniques on our trip.

In year 4 all children have the opportunity to attend a two day residential trip to the Cranedale Centre. The trip usually takes place in March and is a brilliant opportunity for children to develop social and team work skills.
